With a €75 MIO budget and 30 partners from the cities of Copenhagen, Hamburg, London, and the Helsinki region, Vandkunsten is to pave the way for circular economy and regenerative cities.
CIRCuIT is the title of the project. It is the abbreviation for Circular Construction In Regenerative Cities. The aim is to act as catalysts for the cities to take advantage of their built in resources,
It is going to be a great pleasure to work with progressive European cities. At Vandkunsten we have worked extensively on architecture, planning, and sustainability for nearly fifty years. We look forward to bringing our insights in play with new partners and getting inspiration.
The city as a material mine. We help the cities look at their own built environment as a material mine with material and components that can be reused without crushing or devaluating their use.
Another part of the project deals with the design of new buildings and neighborhoods that are prepared for a long life including the capability of transformation.
The City of Copenhagen is the managing partner of the large project under the Horizon 2020 program of the European Union.
the project will run from June 2019 to May 2023.
