Søren is an architect MAA and partner at Vandkunsten Architects. He has been responsible for planning and design of many buildings with diverse functions and in different scales.
Søren is the director of research and development at the office. His main interest is sustainability understood in the widest sense.
He adds new layers to the understanding of LCA in the project Nordic Built Component Reuse and he expands the use of solid wood in projects such as the Light Gymnasium.
At our biggest project Albertslund South Søren applies strategies for reusing as much as possible of the existing materials.
And he was also in charge of our smallest project – a vacation house on the island of Læsø, using eelgrass in contemporary ways.
Søren is a key member in the board of Sustainability at the association of Danish Architecture Firms and is a member of the board at Green Building Council Denmark who works with DGNB certifications.
Søren is an appointed judge and visiting lecturer and he often gives lectures and courses all around the world – about sustainable architecture and design for disassembly.
