Transformation of the Quintus Battery
København
2012 - 2013

New office in the old machine hall

Architecture studio in the old industrial building

The old machine building, Building 11, was originally built by the Royal Navy in 1956. The building is listed and situated on Holmen by the overgrown ramparts of the old fortification of the city of Copenhagen. Vandkunsten Architects got the assignment to transform the structure to offices – our own. Despite the anonymous appearance the old industrial build has considerable architectural qualities which we have intended to maintain.
